About Us
History
The Grand Rapids Modern Quilters was founded in 2014 and joined the Modern Quilt Guild in 2025. The guild has 501(c)(3) status and operates as a non-profit organization.
Community
Our dedication to fostering a vibrant quilting community is reflected in every event we host. We share finished quilts and works in progress at our monthly meetings during Milestone Marker and Show 'n Share. Besides our monthly meetings, we also host sew-ins and retreats so that members have time to sew and socialize.
Education and Charity Sewing
We host speakers, trunk shows, and classes to educate our members about quilts and quilting techniques. We have a charity quilt committee that accepts block, quilt, and donations of time. Quilts are donated to the YWCA Women's Shelter in downtown Grand Rapids at the end of the year.
